2025 Annual Enrollment overview for legacy US Airways post-65 retirees

Annual Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to make changes to your current American Airlines benefits. If you do not make any changes during this period, your 2024 coverage choices will carry over into 2025. In addition, you may also want to consider an external plan with the help of a Via Benefits advisor. American’s Medical Option

American's Annual Enrollment is Nov. 12 to 26, 2024. For 2025, there are no changes to the post-65 retiree medical options. Please know that if you choose to drop your legacy US Airways retiree medical coverage for any reason, you cannot reenroll for retiree benefits at American.

You can find 2025 rates by logging in to your account in the Benefits Service Center during the enrollment process.

How to enroll

Review and make changes to your current elections by logging in to the Benefits Service Center. You may submit changes starting Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, and no later than 11:59 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024.

Via Benefits retiree medical options

American Airlines has partnered with Via Benefits, a private insurance marketplace from Willis Towers Watson, to provide plan advice and enrollment assistance when choosing supplemental health care and prescription drug coverage in the individual market.

Via Benefits offers a variety of carriers and plans (including dental and vision plans) that may provide an equal or better maximum benefit coverage at a lower your cost when compared to an American retiree medical option. Via Benefits is not an insurance company, and its services are free of charge.

If you do identify a medical option that is better for you through Via Benefits, you can drop your American medical options before Dec. 31, 2024.

Via Benefits advisers can help you:

• Choose a plan during Annual Enrollment.
• Choose a plan when you or a spouse becomes eligible for Medicare.
• Find out if you are eligible for a federal subsidy if you purchase a state Marketplace plan through Via Benefits.
• Get answers to questions throughout the year, help you with claims and work with carriers on your behalf.

Annual Enrollment periods are:

• For Via Benefits — individual and family coverage (under age 65) — Nov. 1 to Dec. 15, 2024, for most states. Some states begin Annual Enrollment before or end after these dates.
• For Medicare — Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, 2024.
